He had a very good time!" I think that´s a perfect way to describe this week. For one, it was HOT! And not a drop of rain. Elder Skinner was just dying. When he left the MTC they were in the middle of a blizzard and then he came here. Yesterday it was 104 and we´re still climbing. But we worked hard regardless. We found some amazing people this week and the members from our branch are still helping us. The woman who got baptized and married my first weekend here, Raquel is an AMAZING missionary. We heading to a place out in the middle of nowhere and she was at a friend´s house. She invited us in so we could teach her friend. We really didn´t teach anything, Raquel did it all, in GuaranĂ of course (poor Elder Skinner didn´t have a clue what anyone was saying), and it was just beautiful.
Later that same night we were having dinner with a less active family that we´ve been working with and they invited a friend of theirs, Miguel, to the lesson. He came and we started a good lesson. We shared about eternal families and then we got a little emotional, "How do you know that´s possible? How are you so sure it will happen?" He had recently lost his mother and this was a very tender subject for him. He shared about the restoration and about Joseph Smith and the most amazing spirit came in the room and we just felt so at peace and you could feel God´s love for that man.
One thing that made the week just beautiful was that at the beginning of the week Elder Skinner was getting very discouraged by the language, by the heat, by the door slams and was beginning to doubt if there was any use for us to be there. With all the wonderful blessings that we were receiving there was no doubt in his mind that we were supposed to be there and it renewed him a bit.
We´re still living in a foursome right now. We´ve tried the Curry and the Alfredo sauce from the Fat Sister´s Cookbook and they´re wonderful. I haven´t gotten a card from the single´s ward. Thank you for Aunt Trisha´s letters. Those are amazing stories.
Next week our schedule will be a little crazy. We´re going to have Zone Conference on Monday and we won´t have P-day that day. We probably will do email on either Tuesday or Thursday but it will probably be Thursday.
I love you all so much.
